1969 Theme

A nice simple theme for your Tumblr-powered tumblelog. Want to get right into it? Download it from here.

Installing the Theme

From your dashboard, click the “Customize” link, then the “Theme” tab, and then the “Use Custom HTML” link. Paste the contents of the above text file into there, deleting what was previously in there. Couldn’t be simpler, really.

Image

This theme makes use of a number of small images. You’re more than welcome to leave the file paths intact and use the ones hosted on my webspace, but I can’t guarantee a) 100% uptime, b) that I won’t move them in the future if bandwidth becomes a concern, c) that I won’t replace them with Goatse one day in a drunken haze, so it might be a better idea to host them somewhere yourself. In any case, here are the images you need:

Note that the pattern (used for the background) originally came from Squidfingers, and the other icons (used for the post types) came from Cameron.io, and can both be downloaded directly from there.

Other Things To Note

There are no dates on posts. That’s intentional. I’ve long been of the opinion that dates on tumblelog posts are not particularly necessary, so I’ve omitted them.

There is no template for chat posts built in to this theme. That’s also intentional: I’m lazy, and no one really uses them anyway. You’re more than welcome to add it yourself.

The theme includes functions for custom CSS and custom colours that allow great customizability.

Feel free to customize this theme in any manner you like. I’ll always try to reply to e-mails requesting support. You’ll find my address here.
